December 2015 & May 2016
We looked after Monkey on 2 different occasions. The first time we met him, he had been alone all day by the time we arrived, and he was hungrier for attention than for food. It didn’t take him long to make himself comfortable on our laps, he was so chilled and friendly!
He really was sweetness personified, he just wanted to be loved. We haven’t met many cats that love human company and attention as much as he does. Even cats that like lap time often prefer to find a quiet corner in the house for their daytime snoozes. However, Monkey wanted to be wherever we were, and preferably sleep right next to us.
He was as soft and fluffy as he looks in the pictures, and so polite too! He slept in the living room, but when we opened the bedroom door in the morning, we’d find him patiently waiting outside. No door scratching, no meowing. Just sitting and waiting.
Of course, the moment he saw us, he’d start meowing as if saying “what time do you call this? it’s time for my breakfast!”
He also enjoyed trying out new toys, although he seemed quite confused by them at first! But once he got the hang of how they worked he would go looking for them and would not know when to stop.
